Ride like the Wind! Converting the new Centurion

What a painting storm it has been at the desk. Pushing forward with the Cathay spirit Longma, and the coming of the new Horus Heresy 3.0 with my freshly converted Centurion mounted on a proper jetbike! Even with all the criticism the game has been receiving on the internet, the drama surrounding units and options being left out of the main published rules has struck a serious nerve with the community. I'm fairly certain that these will be released in PDF format and will allow players to play with their toys. Especially considering that all the options of a mounted character are gone, and it's no surprise that they have never made a single character on a bike for the entirety of the Horus Heresy game since its launch back in the days of Alan Bligh in 2014. As my love for the White Scars, it's our duty as passionate gamers to do our best to convert our characters on bikes, and if there is some silver lining to the release of Saturnine HH 3.0 it's that the new Centurion plastic model is, in my opinion, the friendliest plastic character to kit bash!

I've attached a simple graphic image of essential framework instructions to convert your own. The parts and tools list are as follows.

Model Kits:

- New MK2 Plastic Centurion (currently in the Saturnine Box)

- 1 Plastic Scimitar Jetbike

- 1 White Scars Golden Keshig Shoulder Pauldrons

- 1 White Scars Hibu Khan Helmet

- 1 Cathay Old World Jade Lancer Champion lance

Tools:

- Hobby Knife & Clippers

- Files ranging from 400 to 1500 grit

- 0.1 Brass Rod

- Pin Vice w/0.1 Drill Bit

- Tamiya Smooth Putty or Green Stuff equivalent

I hope this gives you plenty of ideas to kit bash your own White Scars Khan on bike, and with this framework from the new Centurion, it should be easy to think of other Console choices both for the White Scars and other legions to mount (I'm looking at you Dark Angels Ravenwing). Sure the game is on a rocky start and I'm for one even been rocked by it. But I know what really counts for me is the modelling and painting that brings the stories of the Horus Heresy to life. It's easy to make your own house rules with your mates, or even go back and play 1.0 or 2.0 if it comes back to that. Ive always been on the spirit of making this wonderful hobby your own and allowing no one to stop me from building and painting what I'm passionate about. Be as the Khagan says, and conduct the hobby as you see fit!
