Cathay Update & New Challenge awaits!
Hey everyone, I hope you have all been busy on the brush, pushing paint, assembling new projects, or planning a brand new project to start. As you've already seen, my first unit of the new Jade Warriors of the Grand Cathay was complete, and with a brand new tutorial just on the horizon! I've been trying to edit this as fast as I can, as it's a lot of footage to cut, so I can bring you as close to the process as possible. Of course, Cathay doesn't stop there! Currently on the painting desk is the new Shugengan Lord on the Great Spirit Longma. This piece has also been under the camera lens (a tricky one to film at that), and will be some unique and new lessons in painting yellow scales, as well as creating a primary side of light and shadow that doesn't just melt into black primer.
On a second note, from a recent poll I ran on our Community Discord, the votes are in, and I'm happy to announce a new Challenge Series dedicated to painting Skin! Our first challenge was focused on the Stormcast Eternals and more specifically Non-Metallic Metal, or NMM for short. This series will take a similar approach, but will revolve around the skin and what that armour is protecting! I'm looking to explore and help you gain more understanding of painting this subject in a variety of scales, ranging from our standard Games Workshop 35mm models, all the way to a bust. I will have more information for you soon, and when to expect the first in a series of tutorials to come, and of course, challenge prizes!
Hope you all have a great week, and I'll be seeing you shortly in the Jade Warriors video tutorial! Happy Painting :)
