Back on the brush baby!
First, I'd like to introduce a brand-new project that I’m very excited about, one that combines both the Stormcast and Skin Challenges! This Necron Void Dragon is a concept of a god's living flesh being enslaved by the cold, dead contraptions of the Necrons. It is, of course, very early in the painting stages, to which I still have to work out the metallic qualities that will take over his body. But I hope that sparks some vision I have for this model. These first few hours are my sketching time to work on the light volumes and colour of the skin and shadows, which I think will go through a second iteration.
Next week we are back in gear with Part 2 of the Trench Cruisade Gula, with her gruesome back piece, and to finish that project. I also have a new free Base tutorial featuring materials from Kroutcover, and supplied by my friends at Fenris Games. This tutorial will feature several stock bases and, for more elaborate work that my jetbikes fly over with my recently finished White Scars Centurion.
And finally, for an extra sprinkle of joy, my new friends Harry and Jen, who were in my studio last week painting, have just popped out their first baby late last night! A huge congratulations to their new family, and I hope to see a new painting prodigy develop in a few years!
Much love and of course Happy Painting ☺️✌️🎨
