Further into the void
Hey everyone, I’m back here with an update to the Void Dragon project as well as what we are to expect coming in next weeks video. Through this series, I’m pretty excited to be merging 2 challenge series into 1. A blend between the Stormcast Challenge (NMM) & the Skin Challenge which is currently in session. All wrapped together in one of the most challenging sculpts to hold, and finding the angles of the brush to paint. Therefor, this tutorial series will possibly be structured a bit different with a bigger emphasis on the painting process, analysis, and the importance of sketching. Speaking of sketching, I’m very happy that my style and approach to painting has gone through this evolution so to speak over the course of 2025, as this piece would be a nightmare with a more classic refined layering method done.
I’m also excited to share a new approach and form of NMM on this guys as well. Which will help me transition into creating more nmm effects on larger scale pieces in the future. More room, means more space for reflections and environmental lights etc. it’s quite chaotic, but I’ll be doing my best to break it all down for you guys, and make it as approachable as possible.
That’s it for this week, I promise to have more updates moving into the rest of the month and to cap off 2025 (wow this year flies fast)! I’ll be diving back into some more pox infested miniatures soon, to which you will get a glimpse at the GW reveals later in the day. Otherwise I’ll see you all next week with the Void Dragon pt.1
Happy Painting
