RAge approaches

Angron, the Primarch of the World Eaters has arrived on my desk, and currently being painted. It's always a treat to be brought back into the story of the Horus Heresy, a setting that kicked my return back to the hobby 10 years ago, both with throwing dice in the game and back on the brush. Spawning my love of painting, and thrusting me forward into this creative pursuit that is presented here today. Why I speak of starts, is that with this sculpt, it feels just as much of presenting that honour to the Heresy itself, with Angron being the first Primarch sculpted for the Horus Heresy that Alan Bligh spearheaded. Even with these sculpts showing their age, from the sculpting itself and cast's created which makes for a challenging painting experience in particular to the style in which I like to paint now. The challenge is more than enough to make up for this experience, and wanting to do this piece the justice it deserves.

I'll be sharing in the coming weeks more WIP pictures, and a multi-part video series in his creation. Presenting my painting methods, colour recipes, and notes into how we can sculpt with paint to help with certain sculpted characteristics that may feel harder to present. As well intergrading more inks and the airbrush in the workflow, for those who want to see how we can use this tool beyond zenithal lighting and basecoats etc.

For those wondering about Miao Ying, don't fret. She will be coming to the patreon with videos of her own. I want to try a different approach in her video series in that I want to finish the entire project, and then assemble it all post GD competition. I'm currently at rest with the project, giving me some time to do a bit more research and thoughts into her final elements that I think you will all be surprised and worth waiting for at the end! A little surprise never hurt anyone ;) That is all for this weekend. Hope you are all busy on the brush, pushing your creativity, and enjoying the process! We will see you next week with the start of Angron's Armour, and take it from there.

Much love & Happy Painting
