Mental Health or Mental Wealth?

Painting and sculpting miniatures is an immensely rewarding experience, but it also comes with significant challenges. Miniature artists often contend with self-doubt, impostor syndrome, and a lack of inspiration. The constant stimulation of social media can be overwhelming, and many struggle to maintain a healthy balance between their personal and professional lives. Entering competitions can sometimes exacerbate these difficulties, fostering an unhealthy relationship with the hobby and making disappointment harder to process.

If any of this resonates with you, know that you are not alone. Despite how common these struggles are, mental health receives far less attention in our community than techniques such as NMM, glazing, or colour theory. That is precisely why I’ve teamed up with Brennan from Bb Miniatures to have an open conversation about mental health in the hobby.

In this audio podcast, we share our personal experiences and discuss how we have worked through recent challenges. More importantly, we highlight the value of community and the importance of speaking up during difficult times. Within this incredible community, there is always someone willing to listen or offer support.
