Armageddon Update!
Hey everyone, it's been a jammed busy week for me both on the brush and also sitting on the video editor prepping new videos for all of you. Over on the Twitch stream I've managed to complete the first Ork Boy from the starter set leaving with the painting of his base in a desert fashion. The experience I've had painting this ork has been fantastic in all aspects, from streaming, to exploring more textures freely, and also releasing myself from "rushing" into projects. Slowing things down a notch, exploring the form more, and allowing my imagination to cook has made a great positive turn in my approach to painting, and directly effects how I can deliver something meaningful to all of you. For a bit more back end context, there is always a sense of performance pressure that can come from both a content creation point for this Patreon, as well as being on the Warhammer community creators program. With so many releases and this congo line of miniatures, it can start to feel like a chore, and the demand is there to just finish it as fast as I can. I've taken a breather to slow it down an extra day or two, give some space in terms of bandwidth of creative thinking and working time with each project. Let myself get some excitement and anticipation for the models, so I can find the joy in the process once more. All for that I thank you for your patience, and I hope the work and the upcoming Armageddon tutorial series shows it worth to you all.
Of course coming to the Armageddon series is the Ork side, which I'm starting to paint this week to give you a full rundown painting the green skin recipe, as well as painting their rusty metal choppas! This will also follow in some more Ork Heads in various colour schemes for those who wish to deviate from the classic green Ork.
For those following the Blood Angels tutorials, this week will be the release of painting the other secondary elements found on this sergeant and many other astartes across the imperium. Painting Purity Seals, the Chest Aquilla, and shoulder paldron Gold NMM. He's nearly complete with just the base to paint, and speaking of bases I've also recorded the sculpting process of the base. For those who want to try their hands at some putty work, I think bases are an excellent starting point that offer a rewarding and forgiving area to work on. A video tutorial featuring both the sculpting and painting process will be coming soon. The base of the ork should give you a clue into what the BA one will be, as I wanted them both on Armageddon for obvious reasons :P
That's it from whats been happening on my desk! Hope you all are happy on the brush, with creativity flowing and trying to stay cool during this late spring. I'll be seeing you all in a few days for the Blood Angels pt.3 coming soon! Happy Painting
